in Arcata, California!
ZMF 2013 will present eight world-class marimba concerts featuring its 11 faculty members and 50 participants and guest performers. They are convening in Arcata from 13 states and 10 countries.
The public is warmly invited to attend! Musical styles to be heard range from classical music to recent compositions, jazz, blues, Latin, Mexican and other world-influenced musics.
There are two co-sponsors and locations for the concerts: Arcata Playhouse, and Native Forum (Behavioral and Social Sciences building, Humboldt State University campus).

Celebrate community
ZMF's visit to Arcata celebrates a local business, Marimba One: a leading manufacturer of marimbas recognized worldwide. Festival participants will get a factory tour. Other visitors may recieve a factory tour--by request.
Nancy Zeltsman, a marimbist/teacher based in Boston, is the founder and Artistic Director of ZMF. 2013 marks ZMF's 11th season. Over two weeks, participants work closely with the faculty in an intensive, fun music seminar environment centered on marimba performance.
